Took me some time to solve this, as FEniCS seemed to run perfectly, but was sending some un explicit error messages. 2- Virtual machine has to have a sufficient quantity of memory at least 2Go in my case. The only difficulties I had were: 1- there is an optimal order when installing python / Spyder / FEniCS (don’t remember which one exactly, but I can find it if anyone is interested) otherwise pieces won’t recognize well each other. Then, Installation of Python, Spyder and FEniCS is straight forward with the packages system. So as I didn’t want to destroy my Windows PC, I created a Virtual Machine with Oracle Virtual Box, and then installed Ubuntu on the top of it. I originally tried to start under Windows using Winpython (as a basic package) plus Docker for FEniCS installation, but I couln’t get the Docker stuff to properly deploy FEniCS.

Please go through the following steps to understand how to install docker in Windows & Operating System.
#Docker toolbox install windows 10#
Deploy Toolbox on a standalone LINUX Docker host/single node swarm cluster (or Windows 10 Docker Host running in Linux containers mode). Windows 7 Operating System, Docker ToolBox, enable VT-X/AMD-V on BIOS Docker Installation Toolbox runs as a lightweight container on a Docker engine or within a Swarm cluster. With docker installed you don’t have dependency of setting up the environments. Th next step is to launch the Docker Quickstart Terminal. That’s all As you can see, it is really simple to install the Docker toolbox. This indicates the successful installation of all the components. Instead of delivering jar, war, ear or other type of artifacts, you delivers image and someone else who wants to deploy your application, basically he/she deploys image on his/her machine with Docker installed. In the Setup Docker Toolbox window, click Install to set up Docker toolbox. It allows developers to create a portable application that could be run on every machine. Clicking Dont Install will abort the VirtualBox install. A Windows Security dialog will pop up asking you if you want to install Oracle device software. At the end of the Docker Toolbox install, it will begin installing VirtualBox. Containers are isolated from one another and bundle their own software, libraries and configuration files they can communicate with each other through well-defined channels. On the fourth screen, select all options, then continue to click through all of the screens. Docker, from Wikipedia, is a set of platform as a service products that use OS-level virtualization to deliver software in packages called containers.
